The short version
- The ports, processes and commands PortFly shows you never leave your Mac.
- We store your account, whether you have paid, and which Mac is signed in. Nothing else.
- We never see your card details, and we do not sell or share your data for advertising.
What we collect
Account. When you sign in we receive your email address and, if you give one, your name, from our sign-in provider.
Purchase. When you buy PortFly we record the payment ID and the date it was paid, so the app can unlock. Your card and billing details go straight to Dodo Payments and are never sent to us.
Signed-in Mac. When you sign in to the Mac app we store a random identifier for that Mac and a session for it, so only one Mac is signed in at a time. Session tokens are stored only as one-way hashes.
Website visits. We use Vercel Web Analytics to count page views. It does not use cookies or track you across sites.
Updates. The app checks our update feed for new versions. Like any web request, this shares your IP address and app version with the server that hosts the feed.
What we do not collect
PortFly reads your open ports and processes locally to show them to you. That information, along with your preferences and custom categories, stays on your Mac and is never uploaded.
Why we use it
- to create your account and sign you in;
- to confirm your purchase, unlock the app and handle refunds;
- to keep a license to one signed-in Mac and prevent abuse;
- to answer you when you contact us;
- to understand, in aggregate, how people find the website.
Who processes it
We rely on a few services to run PortFly. Each only gets what it needs:
- Clerk for sign-in and account management;
- Dodo Payments, our Merchant of Record, for checkout, payment, tax and refunds;
- Supabase for the database that stores your account record;
- Vercel for hosting this website and its analytics;
- Cloudflare for hosting app downloads and updates.
Cookies
The website uses only the cookies needed to keep you signed in. There are no advertising or tracking cookies.
How long we keep it
We keep your account for as long as it exists. Payment records may be kept longer where tax or accounting law requires it. When you delete your account we remove your account record and signed-in session.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct, export or delete your data at any time by emailing [email protected]. We reply within 30 days, usually much sooner.
Children
PortFly is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If this policy changes, we update the date at the top. Significant changes are announced on this site first. Questions? See Contact.
